modules

Describes currently available hydrology education curriculum modules as contributed and future modules that are in the process of development or that the MOCHA community would like to have developed.

The main component of the MOCHA project is a set of modules covering the main topics that are likely to be covered in an introductory hydrology course.  Click here for more information.

All modules are freely available for download for instructors via the MOCHA website.  To access the modules, register for a login and password.  Following download, the slides can be adapted to fit individual classroom needs.

Red blockTitle 1 about theRed block

Each module is based on a power point presentation that provides at least three hours of lecture material (assuming that this is a typical weekly course load). Most modules will contain slightly more material to allow the instructor to adjust the power point presentation to the specific needs of his or her students. MOCHA modules include the following:

  • A common look and feel
  • Pedagogically-guided structure
  • Teaching notes providing guidance on how to teach the material, with emphasis on teaching undergraduate versus graduate classes
  • A common control volume approach
  • In-depth slides that focus on higher level material
  • Categorization of each slide with respect to spatial scale and topic addressed
