ABSTRACT

This module focuses on representation of different models previously developed for water flow in porous media.  The Higen-Poiseuille, Burdine (1953), Mualem (1976), and Hoffman-Rien et al. (1999) models will be discussed.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. To introduce the above models for water flow in porous media in their simplest form.
  2. To increase student familiarity with hydraulic conductivity, and how it is quantified and represented across the models.
